The Ministry of Digital Transformation and Administration Modernization in Nouakchott has launched a high-level technical workshop aimed at unifying standards for public digital services, marking a significant step toward improving the quality and efficiency of government digital systems.

The three-day workshop brings together representatives from both public and private sectors, alongside national and international experts, to develop a cohesive framework for digital service delivery.

Opening the session, Minister Ahmed Salem Badh emphasized that harmonizing digital standards is no longer optional but a strategic necessity. He noted that fragmented systems have led to inefficiencies, resource wastage, and reduced performance in public service delivery. According to the minister, adopting a unified framework will ensure greater interoperability, consistency, and improved service quality for citizens.

The workshop focuses on strengthening coordination among key stakeholders involved in digital transformation, with the goal of establishing a national reference framework for public digital services. This framework is designed to support the development of integrated and user-friendly digital platforms, ultimately enhancing the citizen experience and boosting trust in government services.

As part of the initiative, the ministry has presented a detailed technical study and an implementation mechanism to participants. Stakeholders have been invited to review, provide feedback, and actively contribute to refining the framework before its full adoption and rollout.

The initiative is supported through close cooperation with Germany, particularly via the German Agency for International Cooperation (GIZ) and the Digital-Y project. This collaboration highlights ongoing international efforts to support digital transformation and public sector modernization in Mauritania, with a focus on building resilient, efficient, and standardized digital governance systems.
