MTN empowers women via ‘inside MTN’s pipeline for female leaders’

Women-owned businesses contribute 37 percent to Nigeria’s GDP, but need structured backing. To achieve structure needed, the MTN Foundation said is bridging the gap with initiatives like Y’ellopreneur, Scholarships, and ICT skills programs.

Y’ellopreneur, according to MTN has trained over 5,700 female entrepreneurs, with N301 million in equipment loans. And also prioritizing digital literacy and STEM education, empowering women in Nigeria’s tech ecosystem.

Programs like The MTN Spelling Bee speaks volumes as 3 of 5 winners are young girls! The latest champion, 14-year-old Oreoluwa Alayande, was MTN Nigeria’s CEO for a Day. This year’s Global Graduate Development Program? All 5 graduates are women!
