The lawmaker representing Oyo South Senatorial District, Senator Sharafadeen Ali, on Monday paid a courtesy visit to President Bola Tinubu at his private residence in Ikoyi, Lagos State.

themomentng reports that the meeting, which took place in the evening, formed part of the President’s series of political engagements while observing the Easter break in Lagos.

Although the exact details of the discussion were not made public, the visit has generated political interest amid ongoing conversations about the 2027 governorship election in Oyo State.

According to reports, the senator is being considered as a consensus candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) for the state’s governorship race in the next election cycle.

Ali was recently among three prominent Ibadan chiefs reportedly elevated to the status of crown-wearing Obas by the Oyo State Government.

The others include Bolaji Adewoyin and Kola Babalola, both high chiefs in Ibadanland.

The development followed a decision by the state government to recognise certain traditional title holders with royal status within the Ibadan chieftaincy structure.

Photographs from the visit, which circulated on social media shortly after the meeting, showed the senator and the President in what appeared to be a warm interaction at the Ikoyi residence.

The visit adds to the list of high-profile political meetings held by Tinubu during his stay in Lagos for the Easter holiday.
