Wife of the Anambra State Governor, Dr Nonye Soludo, has described health as the greatest wealth and a fundamental measure of a thriving society.

Soludo, also the Founder of Healthy Living Initiative, made the assertion in a statement on Tuesday to mark World Health Day commemorated every April 7.

NAN reports that World Health day is a global health awareness course under the sponsorship of the World Health Organisation.

Soludo called for urgent efforts to build a strong and inclusive healthcare system in the country.

She said no society could truly progress without prioritising the health and well-being of its people.

She also said that establishing a solid health system that guaranteed access and inclusion for citizens was not optional but a critical necessity.

According to her, while government is expected to take the lead in driving healthcare development, the process requires a shared vision and active participation from stakeholders.

“In Anambra, under the Soludo administration, health is approached as a practical action driven by the needs of the ordinary citizen,” she said.

Soludo noted that her organisation, Healthy Living Initiative, had intensified efforts in promoting healthy lifestyles through weekly workouts, health education and community outreach programmes across the state.

She urged residents to adopt healthy daily habits, emphasising that good health was achieved through consistent and conscious lifestyle choices.

“As we celebrate World Health Day, we must remember that health is not a one-off process but a result of simple, consistent actions.

“Be mindful of what you consume and always prioritise your well-being,” she added.
