According to Saliu, two of the suspects, allegedly posing as construction workers, lured the victim to a secluded area, killed him using a shovel and stole his tricycle.

Saliu said that  the victim’s family had reported him missing on March 18, after he left home on his tricycle, only to later find his lifeless body on March 19, around CBN zone 8, Lokoja.

She explained that investigation led to the arrest of the two suspects, who confessed to the crime and revealed that they sold the tricycle to the third suspect..

The Command’s spokesperson said that the police recovered the tricycle alongside four other stolen motorcycles from the third suspect in Anyigba, Dekina Local Government Area of the state.

She said further investigation revealed that the suspects were ex-convicts, previously linked to several murder and armed robbery cases.

Saliu said the suspects have been charged to court and assured the public that the police was commitment to rid the state of crime.

“Commissioner of Police, Naziru Bello Kankarofi,  commended the operatives for their diligence and urged residents to remain vigilant,” she said.
