A retired army officer, Chris Eze, has been elected Chairman of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) in Enugu State.
Eze, a former State Secretary of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and ex-Ambassador to India, was elected on Saturday alongside other members of the party’s State Working Committee.
Other officials elected during the exercise include Prince Acharabuagu Kingsley as Vice Chairman for Enugu North Zone, and Lolo Queen N. Nwankwo as State Organising Secretary, among others.
The emergence of the new executives is expected to reposition the party ahead of future electoral contests in the state.
In his acceptance speech, Eze pledged to lead an inclusive administration that would accommodate all members of the party.
He assured party aspirants of fairness and transparency in the upcoming primaries.
“We will run an inclusive administration that will carry all members along in the affairs of the party,” he said.
In a statement issued by Adolphus Udeh, the new chairman said the party was already strategising to take over power in the state.
The ADC is positioning itself “to take over power in Enugu State in the 2027 general elections, with a vision to establishing a people-oriented and grassroots-driven government capable of delivering democratic dividends.”
