Yas Tanzania has announced its participation in the official launch of 758 communication towers alongside the handover of newly developed fibre infrastructure to the Government of Tanzania.

The initiative, delivered by a consortium of telecom operators, was officially presided over by President Dr. Samia Suluhu Hassan.

The project marks a significant expansion of Tanzania’s national connectivity infrastructure, aimed at improving access to reliable and high-quality telecommunications services across the country, particularly in underserved and remote areas.

According to Yas Tanzania, the company contributed to a substantial portion of the rollout, delivering 33% of the total 758 towers. It also independently invested in upgrading several sites from 2G to 4G technology to enhance service quality and network performance.

The initiative forms part of broader efforts to accelerate digital inclusion and strengthen Tanzania’s participation in the digital economy by ensuring more citizens have access to modern communication infrastructure.

Yas Tanzania stated that the milestone reflects its long-term commitment to expanding connectivity and supporting national development through sustained investment in telecom infrastructure.
