The Board of Directors of NCR (Nigeria) Plc has appointed former first lady of Kwara State, Mrs Oluwatoyin Saraki, as a Non-Executive Director of the company.
The company disclosed this in a corporate disclosure through the Nigerian Exchange Ltd. (NGX) on Monday.
According to the statement, the appointment took effect on June 11 and is subject to ratification by shareholders at the company’s next Annual General Meeting (AGM).
The board said Saraki brings to the company extensive experience in legal practice, international governance, and strategic leadership gained across the private, public, and multilateral sectors.
Saraki is the founder-president of The Wellbeing Foundation Africa (WBFA), where she championed women’s and children’s health, education, socio-economic empowerment, and community development initiatives across sub-Saharan Africa for more than two decades.
She currently serves as the inaugural and emeritus Global Goodwill Ambassador of the International Confederation of Midwives.
She is a special adviser and member of the Independent Advisory Group of the World Health Organization (WHO) Regional Office for Africa.
She is also the UNFPA Nigeria Family Planning Champion, the Save the Children Newborn Health Champion for Nigeria, and a Global Champion for the White Ribbon Alliance for Safe Motherhood.
