Crystal Palace manager Oliver Glasner has revealed that he will leave the club when his contract expires this summer, bringing an end to a remarkable spell at Selhurst Park.

The 51-year-old Austrian has cemented his status as a Palace legend, having guided the Eagles to their first major trophy with last season’s FA Cup triumph over Manchester City. That victory also propelled the club into European competition for the first time, with Palace competing in this season’s Conference League, and saw them lift the Community Shield against Liverpool in August on penalties.

Oliver Glasner, who replaced Roy Hodgson in February 2024 when Palace were 15th in the Premier League, confirmed that his decision to leave was made months ago.

“A decision has already been taken, months ago. I had a meeting with Steve [Parish] in October, the international break,” Glasner said. “We had a very long talk, and I told him I will not sign a new contract. We agreed at the time that it was best to keep it between us.

“It’s the best that we could do that and keep it confidential for three months. But now it’s important to have clarity, and we had a very busy schedule so that’s why we didn’t want to talk about it. Steve and I want the best for Crystal Palace.”
