themomentng reports that the Super Eagles had defeated Egypt 4-2 on penalties, to claim bronze at the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations in Casablanca.

NAN recalls that the third-place match ended goalless after regulation time, forcing a penalty shootout to decide the winner as goalkeeper Stanley Nwabali, emerged Nigeria’s hero.

Nwabali produced two outstanding saves to deny Egypt’s star men, Mohamed Salah and Omar Marmoush, to secure the podium finish for the Eagles.

According to Obi, the Eagles fought with character, represented Nigeria with honour, and reminded us that progress is built through perseverance.

“The nation is proud of you; May this result be a strong foundation for even greater victories ahead.

“Come home as the victors that you are, and continue to soar high our dearest Super Eagles; congratulations Nigeria Super Eagles,” he said.
