The Vice-Chancellor (V-C) of the university, Prof. Umar Adam-Katsayal, revealed this during the FUT’s 3rd matriculation ceremony held on Friday in Daura.

themomentng reports that during the event, no fewer than 580 newly admitted students were matriculated for the 2025/2026 academic session.

According to Adam-Katsayal, the university is progressing steadily, adding that by the year 2028, FUTD would have completed the circle of the First Phase of its growing pathway.

He added that the university was also planning to integrate modern technology into teaching, with plans to introduce smart classrooms and expand virtual learning platforms to accommodate the growing number of students.

Adam-Katsayal said that sustainability initiatives such as solar-powered facilities and a green campus were also being prioritised, adding that the university was building collaboration with partners.

“The university is witnessing expansion in students enrollment, campus infrastructure, including lecture halls, laboratories, workshops, and staff accommodations.

“Short and executive courses will soon be introduced to satisfy the needs of the working class and executive officers.

“We are also planning to intensify research efforts in autonomous vehicles and green logistics, as well as sustain staff capacity building and industry partnerships,” the V-C said.

He stated that the achievements and prospects are being recorded in spite of some challenges in running the affairs of the institution, urging the new students to embrace the core values the university stands for.

The V-C said that the values will not only guide them through their academic sojourn, but will also shape them into becoming the future leaders in the transportation ecosystem.

“You must therefore avoid all forms of social vices such as drug abuse, bullying, cultism, examination misconduct, theft, fight, and be good ambassadors of your family.

“Take note that the matriculation oath you have been administered will guide you, and the university will employ it in making decisions on any act of misconduct.

“I therefore strongly state here that the university will not take it lightly with violators of its set rules and regulations,” Adam-Katsayal warned the students.
