The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has officially commenced the sale of application documents for the 2026 Direct Entry programme.

The examination body disclosed this in a statement posted on its official 𝕏 handle on Monday, announcing that eligible candidates can now begin the registration process.

According to the board, registration “commenced today, Monday, 2nd March 2026 and will end by Saturday, 25th April 2026.”

JAMB emphasised that the entire process would be handled strictly through its designated centres nationwide.

The board stated that the purchase of e-PINs and application documents is “restricted exclusively to its accredited state and zonal offices across the country.”

The move, according to the board, is aimed at ensuring transparency and curbing irregularities often associated with third-party registrations.

themomentng reports that the Direct Entry programme provides an alternative admission pathway for candidates with advanced qualifications to secure placement directly into the 200 level of university programmes, without sitting for the Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME).

Eligible qualifications include National Diploma, National Certificate in Education, Interim Joint Matriculation Board certificates, A-Level certificates, and other approved equivalents.

This route is particularly popular among polytechnic and college of education graduates seeking to further their studies at Nigerian universities.

The commencement of the Direct Entry registration comes shortly after the conclusion of the 2026 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination registration exercise, which closed on February 28.

With the new window now open, prospective candidates are advised to begin their applications early and ensure they complete all processes within the stipulated timeframe to avoid a last-minute rush.

JAMB has repeatedly warned applicants to adhere strictly to its guidelines and make use of only approved centres for all registration-related activities.
