Mainstream Energy to drill 10 boreholes, renovate toilets for ABU, Zaria

Mainstream Energy Solutions Limited (MESL) has pledged to drill 10 boreholes and renovate toilets at the Ahmadu Bello University (ABU), Zaria, to improve the institution’s  water supply and sanitation.

Malam Auwalu Umar, Director, Public Affairs Directorate of the university, disclosed this in a statement issued on Friday in Zaria.

He said the intervention followed the company’s recent upgrade of ABU’s 1,000-seater conference centre for  institution’s pre-convocation lecture .

He said Siraj Abdullahi, the MESL   Executive Director, Finance, announced the new support when the Vice-Chancellor of the university, Prof. Adamu Ahmed, led the university’s management on a thank-you visit in Abuja.

“The rehabilitation of the Kainji Dam Model at the Faculty of Engineering would be completed before the end of March.

“The company was exploring additional ways to support the university as a leading centre of learning in Nigeria.

“Plans are also underway to create opportunities for ABU students to undertake training and practical work experience with the company,

“This  company appreciates  the vice-chancellor and his team for the visit, the company valued its partnership with Ahmadu Bello University.” Umar quoted Abdullahi as saying.

Earlier, the vice-chancellor said the visit was to appreciate Mainstream Energy for its continued support to the university.

Ahmed specifically thanked the company for upgrading the conference centre, which enabled the university to successfully host its last pre-convocation lecture.

He said the intervention significantly boosted the institution’s image and enhanced the success of the event.

According to him, the institution’s Chancellor, Pro-Chancellor, Chairman of Council, Senate, staff and students all appreciated the company’s support.
