Côte d’Ivoire has emerged as one of Africa’s most innovation-friendly economies after securing a place among the continent’s top 10 in the latest Innovators Business Environment Index (IBEI) 2026 released by StartupBlink.
The report highlights the country’s progress in creating a supportive environment for entrepreneurs and innovators, reflecting sustained national efforts to reduce barriers to starting and operating businesses.
According to the index, Côte d’Ivoire now ranks among the top 10 countries in Africa for business environment conditions, demonstrating a strong commitment to improving policies that support innovation and startup growth. The report also notes that the country has taken the lead in West Africa, receiving the highest overall assessment for business environment conditions in the subregion.
Globally, Côte d’Ivoire’s performance reflects growing momentum in the use of what the report describes as “friction-reducing policy levers” aimed at making it easier for entrepreneurs to build and scale companies.
