Former lawmaker Philip Tanimu Aduda has resigned from the People’s Democratic Party, citing the ongoing crisis within the party.

In a resignation letter dated March 17, 2026, and addressed to the PDP Chairman of Karu Ward in Abuja, Aduda said his decision takes immediate effect.

themomentng reports that ex-senator, who represented the Federal Capital Territory from 2011 to 2023, explained that the internal issues in the party forced him to resign his membership.

He expressed appreciation to the PDP for giving him the platform to serve in different elective roles across the country.

Aduda added that he values the opportunity he had during his time in office under the party.

The letter was formally signed by the former senator, who served in the 7th, 8th, and 9th National Assembly.

A handwritten note on the document shows that the original copy of the resignation letter was received by the Karu Ward PDP Chairman on the same date.

He wrote: “I write to formally notify you of my resignation as a member of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) with immediate effect due to the crisis in the party.

“I remain grateful for the opportunity the party gave me to serve in various elective positions in our nation. Please, accept the assurances of my high esteem.”
