The aspirant, who is the Senior Special Assistant to Gov. Ahmed Ododo on Road Safety Matters, said his decision to contest was driven by his passion to improve the welfare of his constituents, particularly youths, women and vulnerable groups.

He described the gesture as part of efforts to support education and alleviate hardship among the people.

“I humbly ask you to bear with me, because what I am about to share is not just a speech, but a cry from the heart of a son who loves his people and can no longer remain silent while his land suffers,” he said.

Suberu identified key challenges facing the constituency to include poor road infrastructure, insecurity and inadequate access to quality education.

He pledged to prioritise the issues if elected, through policies and programmes that would enhance development in the area.

The aspirant also promised to create employment opportunities, support entrepreneurship, and initiate empowerment programmes for youths and women.

He commended Ododo and President Bola Tinubu for their efforts in addressing insecurity in Kogi and across the country.

Suberu said that under his foundation, 40 students were awarded scholarships, while 100 individuals received financial support, in addition to the distribution of phones to selected beneficiaries.

Mr Yusuf Ohiare, Special Adviser to the Governor on Electronic Media, who unveiled the aspirant, described the event as a moment of renewed hope for the constituency.

Ohiare said the empowerment programme reflected Suberu’s commitment to improving the lives of the people.

“Leadership is about uplifting people, creating opportunities and putting smiles on faces. Today’s programme is a practical demonstration of that belief,” he said.

The event was attended by prominent APC stakeholders, including the Ward Chairman, Alhaji Aliyu Momoh, and the Auditor-General for Local Government, Dr Yakubu Adabenege Siyaka.

Leaders of youth and women groups in the constituency commended Suberu for the initiatives and pledged support for his aspiration.

Speaking on behalf of Ege-Iruvochinomi Ward, Mrs Fatimat Abdulmalik, former Council Leader of Adavi Local Government, expressed appreciation for Suberu’s contributions to the community.

She noted that his scholarship schemes, empowerment programmes and support for orphans and the less privileged had positively impacted many lives.

“We wholeheartedly pledge our unreserved support for your aspiration to represent us in the House of Representatives,” she said.

One of the beneficiaries, Momoh Jimoh Jamiu, also thanked Suberu for the scholarship award and pledged to remain diligent in his studies.
