The eight-player squad will fly the nation’s flag at the tournament, facing some of Africa’s strongest teams in a bid to secure qualification for the next Commonwealth Games.

President of the Nigeria Wheelchair Basketball Federation, Seyi Johnson, voiced confidence in the team’s preparation and prospects ahead of the competition.

“Our athletes have shown great commitment and resilience in training. We are optimistic they have what it takes to achieve the results needed for qualification,” he stated.

He further stressed the importance of the qualifiers, noting that the event provides a valuable platform not only for competition but also for highlighting the continued development of wheelchair basketball in the country.

Nigeria’s participation reflects its sustained commitment to promoting inclusivity in sports and advancing para-sports on the international stage.
