Nigerian businessman, Isaac Fayose, has cautioned Nigerians against re-electing President Bola Tinubu in the 2027 general elections, warning that the price of petrol could rise as high as ₦5,000 per litre.
Fayose made the remark in a video posted on his Facebook page while reacting to a poster welcoming the President to Lagos State, which featured Tinubu alongside his wife and son, Seyi Tinubu.
A poster circulated during the President’s recent visit to Lagos displayed the images of Tinubu, First Lady Oluremi Tinubu, and their son.
Fayose described the inclusion of the President’s son on the poster as unusual and raised concerns about what he termed the growing influence of family members in government affairs.
The businessman warned that Nigerians risk worsening economic hardship if the current administration is returned to power in 2027.
“These people will not come back. Let our votes come in bulk or else you will buy fuel at ₦5,000 per liter,” he said.
According to him, the next election offers Nigerians an opportunity to decide the future direction of the country.
“It is time to take the country back. Don’t be scared that your votes will not count,” he added.
Fayose also questioned the government’s handling of fuel subsidy removal, saying earlier promises of savings had not translated into visible benefits.
“They told us that if they remove the fuel subsidy, they will be saving at least one billion dollars every month. How much have they saved now?” he asked.
He further warned against what he described as the emergence of a political system dominated by a single family.
“It is going to be a thing of family heritage. You, your children, your unborn children will be in bondage forever. This is the first time we will have a government of the family, by the family, and for a family,” he said.
