Tottenham Hotspur have dismissed interim head coach, Igor Tudor, after a brief and troubled spell in charge that yielded just one win in seven matches.
The club confirmed the decision in an official statement on Sunday, bringing an early end to a contract that had been due to run until the close of the season. Goalkeeping coach Tomislav Rogic and physical coach Riccardo Ragnacci have also departed.
“We can confirm that it has been mutually agreed for Head Coach Igor Tudor to leave the Club with immediate effect. Tomislav Rogic and Riccardo Ragnacci have also left their respective roles of Goalkeeping Coach and Physical Coach,” the club’s statement reads.
“We thank Igor, Tomislav and Riccardo for their efforts during the past six weeks, in which they worked tirelessly. We also acknowledge the bereavement that Igor has recently suffered and send our support to him and his family at this difficult time. An update on a new Head Coach will be provided in due course.”
Tudor was appointed on 14 February following the dismissal of former boss Frank. Hopes of a short-term bounce quickly faded. Tottenham managed one win, one draw and six defeats under his watch, extending a grim league run without victory to 13 matches.
The slump has dragged Spurs to just one point above the relegation zone, raising serious fears about the club’s Premier League survival. With the season entering a decisive phase, the search for a new head coach is now urgent as the north London side attempts to halt its slide and steady a turbulent campaign.
