Dr Ozovehe Shehu, a Chemical Pathologist, has been appointed the new Chief Medical Director (CMD), Federal Teaching Hospital (FTH) Lokoja.
The Ebira Doctors’ Forum (EDF), confirmed the appointment in a statement signed by its Secretary, Dr Moses Shaibu on Monday in Lokoja,
The association commended the Federal Government for appointing their member as the substantive CMD of FTHL
The EDF congratulated Shehu and expressed confidence in his ability to transform the health institution.
According to EDF, Shehu’s achievements reflect his dedication to service, advocacy, and welfare of workers.
“The Ebira medical family is proud of your perseverance, resilience, and your triumphant emergence.
“Your appointment as CMD, FTHL, is a source of pride for Ebira doctors and the entire Ebira nation.
“We believe you have the vision, experience, and determination to transform FTHL into a world-class institution, achieving clinical excellence, research output, and institutional integrity,” it said.
The group prayed for wisdom, health and guidance for the new CMD of the hospital.
The association pledged full support and readiness to collaborate and contribute to a lasting legacy under Shehu’s leadership at the tertiary health institution.
Shehu was a past President of the Association of Resident Doctors (ARD) at Ahmadu Bello University Teaching Hospital (ABUTH), Zaria.
He also served as Secretary and Chairman of the Nigerian Medical Association (NMA), Kaduna State, Chairman NMA Committee on Remuneration and Welfare as well as one time board member of NMA.
Until his current appointment, Shehu was the Secretary, National Association of Medical and Dental Academics (NAMDA).
Shehu succeeded Dr Ojochide Ebune, who was the Acting CMD.
