More than 35 companies have expressed interest in joining Conecta Angola Comercial, an initiative aimed at expanding digital connectivity and accelerating satellite-based internet services across Angola.
According to the National Space Program Management Office, GGPEN, a total of 37 companies have already started the process of integrating into the project. The initiative is being implemented under the Ministry of Telecommunications, Information Technologies and Social Communication, MINTTICS, in partnership with key stakeholders in the country’s digital and space sector.
As part of ongoing engagement efforts, working meetings have recently been held with companies including SpeedNet, Netservice, and TechGolden. These sessions are designed to present commercial opportunities linked to the use of capacity from the ANGOSAT-2 satellite, which is central to the country’s strategy for expanding broadband access.
The initiative is focused on mobilizing private sector participation to commercialize satellite internet services, particularly to reach remote and underserved regions. Authorities say the project is expected to strengthen digital inclusion, support entrepreneurship, and contribute to broader economic development.
