Former Arsenal midfielder Thomas Partey has pleaded not guilty to two new allegations of rape during a court appearance in London.
Thomas Partey, 32, appeared at Southwark Crown Court, where he denied twice raping a woman in the capital in December 2020.
The fresh charges come after the ex-Arsenal player was charged in July last year with five counts of rape and one count of sexual assault linked to alleged incidents between 2021 and 2022. He has already pleaded not guilty to those accusations.
In total, Partey now denies seven counts of rape and one count of sexual assault involving four women.
Judge Tony Baumgartner ruled that all allegations will be tried together. The trial had been scheduled for November but may now be pushed back to January 2027 following the latest charges.
Partey confirmed his name and entered the two new not guilty pleas during the hearing. He wore dark grey trousers, a black jumper over a white shirt and black shoes in court.
The midfielder did not attend an earlier hearing at Westminster Magistrates’ Court, where the charges were first outlined, though his lawyer indicated at the time that not guilty pleas would be entered.
He remains on bail and is barred from contacting the alleged victims while proceedings continue.
themomentng reports that Partey joined Arsenal from Atletico Madrid in a deal worth about £45m in 2020 before moving to Villarreal last summer. He is expected to play for Ghana at the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
Partey is due back in court for a pre-trial hearing on 14 May.
