In a letter read on the floor of the Senate by the Senate President, Godswill Akpabio, Ngwu said his decision was informed by his desire to align with Enugu State Governor Peter Mbah and President Bola Tinubu.

He described the APC as the most stable political platform in the country.

Senator Nwoye was elected into the Senate in 2023 on the platform of the Labour Party (LP) before defecting to the African Democratic Congress (ADC) in late 2025.

In other news, the faction of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) loyal to the Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde, has expressed confidence that the Supreme Court will eventually rule in its favour.

This position was made known in a statement on Wednesday by the party’s National Publicity Secretary, Ini Ememobong, in reaction to the latest ruling of the apex court on the party’s leadership crisis.

themomentng recalls that the Supreme Court on Wednesday, reserved judgment in the appeal filed by the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) regarding its nullified convention held in Ibadan, Oyo State, in November 2025.

A five-member panel, led by Justice Mohammed Garba, announced that the date of the judgment will be communicated to their lawyers.

Reacting, Ememobong charged party supporters to maintain calm and keep their hopes alive
