Airtel Nigeria, through the Airtel Africa Foundation, has opened applications for a new digital skills initiative aimed at expanding tech access for underserved young women in Lagos State.

The programme, known as DigiLeap Tech Drive, is designed to equip 200 women in Ikorodu with practical, in-demand digital and technology skills. It forms part of broader efforts to bridge the digital divide and improve economic opportunities for women in Nigeria’s growing tech ecosystem.

The initiative is being delivered in partnership with the Ishk Tolaram Foundation and Co-Creation Hub, and implemented by SAIL Innovation Lab. It combines technical training with structured mentorship and career support.

Unlike standard training programmes, DigiLeap Tech Drive places strong emphasis on employability, offering participants direct pathways into internships and potential long-term careers in the technology sector. The curriculum is fully female-focused, targeting women between the ages of 18 and 35 residing in Ikorodu.

The programme includes industry-relevant digital training, mentorship opportunities, and job placement support, aiming to strengthen participation of women in Nigeria’s digital economy while addressing gaps in access to technology education and employment.
