Sadiq-Aliyu added that Dukiya was arrested following credible intelligence linking him to the theft of a motorcycle belonging to one Isma’il Ibrahim.

He stated that police investigations revealed that Salisu allegedly conspired with an accomplice, identified as Abba, who is currently on the run.

He said that the officers recovered the stolen motorcycle along with a master key believed to have been used in carrying out the theft.

According to Sadiq-Aliyu, efforts are ongoing to track down the fleeing accomplice and bring him to justice.

He added that a 45-year-old was also arrested for attempting to bribe investigators with ₦243,000 in a bid to secure the release of the suspect.

The police spokesperson explained that the offer was firmly rejected by the officers, who documented the cash as evidence.

He said the bribery suspect is in custody and is expected to face prosecution for offering a bribe to public officers, an offence punishable under Section 118 of the Penal Code Law.
