Former 2023 Presidential candidate of the Labour Party, and a key figure in the coalition movement within the African Democratic Congress (ADC), Mr. Peter Obi, is currently in a closed-door meeting with Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde, at the Governor’s Office, Secretariat, Ibadan.

The meeting came barely 72 hours after a high-level opposition parties’ summit was held in the Oyo State capital, which drew prominent political actors and stakeholders from across the country.

According to an inside source familiar with the development, the meeting is believed to be part of ongoing consultations aimed at strengthening opposition cohesion and exploring possible strategic alignments ahead of future political engagements.

The agenda of the discussions was, however, not officially disclosed as at the time of filing this report.
The source who spoke with Vanguard said, both politicians are engaging in what was described as “strategic political consultations” following recent developments within opposition circles, though details remained tightly guarded.

He said added that the meeting also followed Obi’s engagement on Monday with former President Goodluck Jonathan, in a separate round of consultations believed to be connected to broader national political realignments.

Meanwhile, further details are expected to emerge as discussions continue.
