The David Sabo Kente Political Organisation (DSKPO) on Saturday purchased the All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship Expression of Interest and Nomination Form for Chief David Kente ahead of the 2027 general elections.
Mr Godwin Vilannah, Leader of the group, who obtained the form at the APC National Secretariat in Abuja told newsmen in a statement in Jalingo that Kente possessed all requirements to turn the state around if elected for the office.
“As patriotic citizens, and committed party members who uphold the true values of democracy, we want to make our party, the APC go into the 2027 governorship contest with the best candidate.
“Also, from the developments emanating across the political spectrum, it is our believe that Kente possessed the required skills, knowledge and wide acceptability across the state to give APC an easy win in the general elections.
“Beyond winning elections, we believe he has continually demonstrated statesmanship and leadership abilities through his ventures to move Taraba to the next level.
“We are being given a new opportunity by our democratic process to have a new management that can transform Taraba and bring happy days back to all.
“In the light of above, we have purchased the contest expression of interest and nomination form him to aspire,” he said.
Vilannah called on the party leadership to provide a level playing ground for all aspirants under the party.
“We must seize this opportunity and the party must create a level playing field for all, who are seeking the governorship ticket on its platform.
“It is a statement of fact that the present administration of Gov. Agbu Kefas has not done well, despite the huge federal allocation coming into the state.
“we are therefore prevailing on Chief Kente to answer the call of the people of Taraba to embark on this very important rescue mission and accept to contest for the exalted position of the State,” he said.
