TDA sponsors 300 students for NBAIS exams in Katsina

A political support group, Tinubu/Dikko Assured (TDA) 2027, has paid the National Board for Arabic and Islamic Studies (NBAIS) final examination fees for 300 students of Arabic Teachers College, Katsina.

Speaking at the event in Katsina, the Commissioner for Education, Yusuf Suleiman-Jibia, said the gesture was a welcome development.

The Commissioner who was represented by Hajiya Raliya Yusuf-Jiba, Director, Senior Secondary Schools, said the intervention would go a long way in supporting students, particularly those from less privileged backgrounds to complete their education.

The commissioner described education as a critical sector that required collective efforts from government and well-meaning individuals to achieve sustainable development.

He urged other organisations and stakeholders to emulate the initiative in order to improve access to education in the state.

Also speaking, the Director-General of TDA, Alhaji Umar Ahmad-Zayyad, represented by the state Coordinator, Ibrahim Khalil, said that the gesture was part of the group’s commitment to supporting education and community development.

He said that the group recognised the importance of education in shaping the future of society and would continue to invest in initiatives that uplift young people.

In his remarks, the Chairman of Katsina Local Government, Isah Miqdad, lauded the group for complementing the government’s efforts in both education and infrastructure.

He said that the intervention would ease the financial burden on parents and guardians while encouraging students to focus on their studies.

Some of the benefiting students and residents expressed gratitude to the group for the support, describing it as timely and impactful.

They pledged to make good use of the opportunity and called for the sustenance of such initiatives to benefit more communities.

The group also handed over a motorised borehole it constructed for residents of Kwaron Dorawa community in Sabuwar Unguwa, Katsina metropolis.
