They also prayed for strength for family members as they mourn her passing.

According to the statement, the funeral prayer was scheduled to take place after the Zuhr prayer at the National Mosque in Abuja on Saturday.

Musawa also confirmed the death of her mother in a Facebook post.

She informed members of the Muslim community about the funeral arrangements, stating that the Janazah prayer would be held at the National Mosque in Abuja after the afternoon prayer.

She further disclosed that her mother would be laid to rest at the Gudu Cemetery in Abuja following the funeral rites.

The announcement identified the deceased as Hajiya Fatima Ladi Binta Musa Musawa, mother of the minister.

Prayers were offered for Allah to forgive her and grant her eternal rest in paradise.

Several heads of agencies under the Ministry of Art, Culture, Tourism and the Creative Economy were expected to attend the funeral ceremony in honour of the late matriarch.

The loss comes a little over three years after the death of Musawa’s father, Musa Musawa, a veteran politician from Katsina State.

He died on March 7, 2023, at the age of 85, after battling illness for a long period.
