She said the orientation programme was designed to equip the young graduates with the values of discipline, patriotism, leadership, teamwork and selfless service as well as prepare them for the responsibilities of the service year.

She said adequate arrangements had been made to ensure a safe, conducive and rewarding camp experience for the corps members.

She said apart from traditional camp activities, corps members will benefit from the Skills Acquisition and Entrepreneurship Development programme, which provided practical opportunities for self-reliance, innovation and wealth creation.

“These skills will empower them to become creators of opportunities and contributors to national development.

“I am pleased to report that a total of 1,500 prospective corps members, comprising 636 males and 864 females, have successfully registered for this orientation course.

“I urge you to embrace the spirit of unity, respect our diversity, obey camp rules and regulations, and conduct yourselves as worthy ambassadors of your families, institutions and the nation,” she said.

Ojisua appreciated the Government of Anambra for its unwavering support to the NYSC, particularly in the areas of security, welfare and infrastructure.

In his address, Gov. Chukwuma Soludo of Anambra congratulated the corps members for successfully completing their academic journey and for honouring the national call to service, while welcoming them to the state.

Soludo who was represented by Mr Patrick-Agha Mba, the state Commissioner for Sports and Youth Development, said their presence was a testament of their commitment to the ideals of patriotism, national unity and service to the country.

He advised them to be security conscious, responsible, respect the laws of the land and avoid activities that could expose them to danger.

“In you, I see the future of Nigeria; I see young men and women whose talents, creativity, energy and determination can help shape the destiny of our nation.

“I encourage you to embrace this unique opportunity, use this service year to learn from one another, appreciate our diversity, build lifelong friendships, and contribute meaningfully to the communities where you will serve.

“Anambra has consistently distinguished itself as a centre of commerce, industry, education and human capital development.

“Our people are renowned for their entrepreneurial spirit and their determination to succeed through hard work and creativity,” he said.
