Presidential aide Daniel Bwala has stirred reactions online after commenting on the recent kidnapping incident in Oyo State and the subsequent killing of one of the victims.
Reacting to the tragedy, Bwala questioned the expectations some Nigerians have of the government’s response to insecurity, particularly in cases involving kidnappers hiding in forests and remote locations.
“Should the government now forcefully begin bombing everywhere looking for them because one person was beheaded?”
His remark came amid public outrage over the gruesome killing of a kidnapped victim in Oyo State, with many Nigerians demanding stronger security measures to curb the growing menace of kidnapping across the country.
Bwala’s comment has since generated mixed reactions on social media. While some users argued that he was highlighting the complexity of combating criminal groups operating in difficult terrains, others criticized his choice of words, saying they appeared insensitive considering the tragic loss of life.
