The International Olympic Committee (IOC) has rejected the complaint filed by British NGO FairSquare against FIFA president Gianni Infantino.
The complaint accused Infantino of repeated breaches of political neutrality over his ties with Donald Trump, particularly following FIFA’s decision to award the American the FIFA Peace Prize.
IOC spokesperson: “The IOC Ethics Commission found that, in accordance with the Olympic Charter, each international federation retains its independence and autonomy in matters of governance.”
As a result, the IOC concluded that the complaint falls outside the Ethics Commission’s jurisdiction.
