Meta has upgraded its AI assistant with task planning, app integration, research, and presentation features, expanding its ability to complete tasks for users.

The American technology company announced the upgrade in a statement on Monday, describing it as a major enhancement to its AI assistant’s capabilities.

Meta said the new features were powered by its latest AI model, Muse Spark 1.1, enabling Meta AI to plan work across connected applications and complete tasks from start to finish.

The company said the assistant could organise schedules, manage calendars, create training programs, prepare meal plans and deliver personalised daily briefings without repeated prompts.

The upgraded AI could conduct in-depth online research by synthesizing information from research papers, websites and content shared across the company’s platforms.

Users could request the assistant to generate slide presentations from its research and modify reports, presentations, or plans while they were being created.

Meta said all AI-generated content, including presentations, plans and mood boards, would be stored in one place, allowing users to revisit, edit and share their work more easily.

The company said the new features would begin rolling out in selected markets through the Meta AI app before expanding to more countries and WhatsApp in the coming weeks.

Meta said the development marked another step towards building more personalized AI systems capable of understanding users’ preferences, managing routine tasks and providing context-aware assistance.
