Nigerian singer Crown Uzama, popularly known as Shallipopi, has called out Damilola Akinwunmi, aka Dapper, CEO of Dapper Music, on social media, accusing him of breaches of contract and financial impropriety.
Shallipopi took to his X page on Friday to complain of withheld royalties, alleging that Dapper did not contribute to the growth of his music career.
“Nobody helped my career bro, I uploaded Elon Musk on TikTok and blew me up!! All from home bro.
“My money wey dey your hand pass $1m and u know,” he wrote.
He further alleged that Dapper had earlier guided his career but later accused him of failing to support him as agreed.
“Dapper, if to say I nor guide na so u for end men,” he wrote.
The posts followed a response from an X user, who claimed that Dapper had contributed to Shallipopi’s career success.
The renewed beef is coming after over a year that Shallipopi parted ways with Dapper Music over alleged financial mismanagement and contractual irregularities.
The singer was signed to Dapper in 2023, and then announced his departure in December 2024 after removing Dapper Music from his social media bio and unfollowing its CEO.
Thereafter, he launched his record label, Plutomania Records, with Zerry DL and Tega Boi as the flagship artists.
However, the latest post by the singer has generated reactions from social media users, with some debating the roles played by Dapper and other individuals in his career.
