The Ministry of Finance Incorporated (MOFI) says it is targeting a N100 trillion portfolio to mobilise institutional capital and accelerate Nigeria’s economic transformation.

Dr Armstrong Takang, MOFI’s Managing Director, disclosed this in a statement on Wednesday ahead of his keynote at FDX by GITEX summit scheduled for Sept. 3 in Lagos.

Takang said achieving Nigeria’s ambition of becoming a $1 trillion economy required moving beyond policy formulation to effectively mobilising institutional capital.

He said FDX would connect policymakers, investors and innovators to partnerships needed to accelerate economic transformation and position Nigeria as a leading financial hub.

Also, Lagos Deputy Governor, Dr Obafemi Hamzat, said modern financial policies and digital infrastructure were critical to deepening inclusion and unlocking Nigeria’s economic potential.

Hamzat said forward-looking policies could facilitate seamless cross-border trade and catalyse sustainable economic value.

He said aligning banking and finance policies with digital infrastructure would empower entrepreneurs and support Nigeria’s ambition of becoming a $1 trillion economy.

The FDX by GITEX NIGERIA Summit will convene regulators, investors, enterprises and startups to explore capital markets, digital assets and cross-border finance.
