In his opening remarks, YPP National Chairman, Mr Bishop Amakiri said Zugwai-Chukwu’s withdrawal necessitated the replacement primary election.

Amakiri, represented by Deputy National Chairman, Hajia Nana Mahamoud, also announced the nomination of Mrs Patience Ndidi-Key as Agada’s running mate.

According to the party, Ndidi-Key is a United States-based entrepreneur and healthcare professional.

Amakiri urged Agada to uphold the YPP manifesto and deploy his wealth of experience towards addressing challenges confronting Nigeria and its citizens.

He called on the presidential candidate to remain committed to the party’s principles while providing effective leadership if elected in 2027.

Also speaking, YPP National Secretary, Mr Vidiyeno Bamaiyi said the party’s membership had increased to 83,066 nationwide since May.

Bamaiyi urged state chairmen to intensify mobilisation efforts to attract more members and strengthen the party’s grassroots presence.

He said stronger grassroots structures would be crucial to expanding the party’s reach ahead of the 2027 general elections.

In his acceptance speech, Agada pledged to reduce insecurity to the barest minimum if elected president of Nigeria.

“I will ensure that insecurity is reduced to the barest minimum across the country,” Agada said.

He also promised to decentralize energy generation and distribution to promote stable electricity supply and improve access to power nationwide.

According to him, decentralized power generation would help address persistent electricity challenges affecting households, businesses, and communities across Nigeria.

Agada further appealed to Nigerians, particularly young people, not to lose hope in the country

He urged citizens to remain optimistic about Nigeria’s future, promising to work toward creating better opportunities and improved living conditions for all.

The YPP candidate’s emergence marks the party’s latest step toward consolidating its preparations for the 2027 general elections.
