The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has introduced a new online system that allows 2026 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) candidates to verify and upload their O’Level results without visiting a Computer-Based Test (CBT) centre.
The development was disclosed by Fabian Benjamin, JAMB’s Acting Director, Public Affairs and Protocol, in a statement issued on Monday, August 24, 2026.
The new system begins with the West African Examinations Council (WAEC), with JAMB facilitating direct verification between its e-Facility platform and examination bodies.
Previously, candidates generally had to visit JAMB-accredited CBT centres to have their O’Level results uploaded to their profiles, with the process involving manual entry of their examination details and grades. The new system shifts the process towards direct verification between JAMB and examination bodies, allowing candidates to initiate the process from home and reducing their dependence on CBT centres.
JAMB said the new system is part of its effort to make its services more accessible and efficient by allowing candidates to verify their O’Level results directly with the relevant examination bodies.
- “Consequently, candidates can now upload their O’Level results from the comfort of their homes, while the Board undertakes the verification of such results directly with the issuing examination bodies.”
The Board said the arrangement is also designed to address problems associated with manual result uploads, including misplaced paper results, fraudulent or unverified certificates, and errors made when entering subjects and grades.
- “Through the integration of JAMB’s eFacility platform with examination bodies, results can now be verified directly against the examination body’s records before being downloaded into the candidate’s profile.”
According to JAMB, the process is intended to reduce unnecessary visits to CBT centres, particularly during periods of high patronage and network congestion.
How to verify and upload your O’Level result
Candidates are required to first visit the designated result verification platform, enter their NIN and select the number of sittings and examination body involved.
After providing their contact and examination details, candidates will make payment, enter their examination number, series and year, and obtain a verification code after their result has been successfully verified.
- They can then send ‘VERIFY’ followed by the verification code to 55019 or 66019 to initiate the upload.
- Candidates with two sittings will subsequently be directed to their JAMB e-Facility profile, where they can select “2026 UTME O’Level Upload,” enter their verification code and select the required subjects from their verified results.
- JAMB said candidates must select between five and nine subjects, with no subject selected more than once, before clicking “Apply the O’Level Results.”
