The Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission has indicted the Budget Office over the inclusion of a fake agency in the 2026 budget.
The anti-corruption agency found that the Budget Office admitted the purported Presidential Foreign Intervention Promotion Council into the budget without carrying out due diligence.
The finding raises concerns over the budget preparation process and the checks required before agencies are captured in national spending plans.
According to the available information, the agency in question was presented as the Presidential Foreign Intervention Promotion Council but was described as fake.
