The wife of businessman and socialite Odogwu Asaba has spoken out over allegations involving her husband and the late Favour, insisting that he did not rape or kill the young woman.

She said she had remained quiet while following the matter and trying to handle it “the right way.” She alleged that bloggers had taken photos of her and her children and were tracking them to frighten her into silence.

She said she would continue to support her husband.

“No matter what happened, Odogwu Asaba is my husband and I stand with him 100%. Nothing is going to turn my back on him.”

On rape allegations, she said she knows her husband and does not believe he could have raped Favour.

“Odogwu Asaba did not kill anybody. Odogwu Asaba did not rape Favour. Odogwu Asaba only had an affair with the girl.”

She said she had known him for eight years and believed she understood his character.

She urged the public not to treat social media as a replacement for investigation and due process.

“Social media is not a courtroom. People should bear that in mind, and we don’t do these things with emotions.”

She maintained that her husband should not be blamed for the death or accused of rape without proof, suggesting there were details the public had yet to hear.

She reaffirmed her loyalty, saying

“Odogwu Asaba is my husband, my husband for eight years, with four children, and I am going to stand by him. I am going to stand by him and he will come back.”

She further questioned why her husband would need to force himself on anyone, pointing to his popularity and claiming that women willingly sought to be intimate with him.

“Even when this man does not have fame, he has not raped anybody,” she said, adding that some women could “actually give themselves to him free of charge” simply for the experience of being able to say they had sl+pt with or been around Odogwu Asaba.

She added that he would have an opportunity to give his own account when he returns.
