The United Nations has voted to adopt a new world map designed to better show the actual size of Africa and other countries.
The map uses the Equal Earth projection, which reflects the relative sizes of countries more accurately.
The resolution is linked to the #CorrectTheMap campaign, an initiative led by Togo. The campaign received the backing of all 55 member states of the African Union.
Supporters of the move say the adoption of the new map is intended to correct how countries and continents are represented globally.
