Investors who put their money into the PXES Ponzi scheme stormed the company’s office in Yola, Adamawa State, after the platform folded, making away with furniture and other items from the premises.
In a video circulating online, people can be seen gathering outside the building and walking away with chairs, equipment, and other properties. Some were running with items in hand as the situation turned chaotic. The clip, marked with captions like “Pxes scam Yola” and “Pxes wahala Yola,” shows the frustration of those who lost their money.
This is not the first time Nigerians are dealing with the fallout of a collapsed investment scheme. From the infamous MMM years ago to CBEX just last year, the pattern remains familiar. High returns promised, people rush in, the scheme eventually crashes, and angry investors are left fighting over whatever is left.
Many who watched the video expressed frustration that people continue to fall for these schemes despite repeated warnings. Others said the desperation for quick money keeps pushing people into the same trap.
As of now, there is no clear information on how much was lost or whether any of the operators have been arrested.
