NITDA, in collaboration with the Enugu MSME and Startup Agency, has concluded the Enugu Kids Coding and Emerging Technology Bootcamp, equipping primary and secondary school students with practical skills in digital and emerging technologies.
The bootcamp exposed participants to Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Computer Vision, Robotics and Automation, Drone Technology, Autonomous Systems and 3D Design, among other emerging technology fields. The programme was designed to give young Nigerians early hands-on experience with technologies expected to shape the country’s digital future.
Representing NITDA’s South-East Zonal Director, Ikechukwu Eze encouraged the students to build on the knowledge gained during the programme and apply technology to solving real-world challenges. He urged the participants to look beyond the classroom, embrace innovation and develop into future technology leaders capable of contributing to Nigeria’s digital economy.
Certificates were presented to all participants, while outstanding students received laptops and tablets in recognition of their performance.
NITDA said initiatives such as the bootcamp are part of efforts to strengthen Nigeria’s digital talent pipeline by providing young people with an early foundation in emerging technologies and preparing them to participate meaningfully in the country’s digital transformation.
