The North-Central Renewed Hope Youth Vanguard has endorsed President Bola Tinubu for a second term in 2027.
Mr Abdulhakim Usman, the Co-ordinator of the group, announced the endorsement on Sunday at a press conference in Lafia, the Nasarawa State capital.
He said the endorsement of Tinubu was due to his achievements in almost all sectors of the economy.
“Following an extensive comparative evaluation of major political leaders and presidential contenders across party lines, the North-Central Renewed Hope Youth Vanguard has reached a firm and definitive conclusion.
“President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, remains the most vision-driven, courageous and pragmatic leader to guide Nigeria toward sustainable prosperity beyond 2027.
“Our evaluation carefully assessed prospective leaders across key metrics, including policy execution, economic vision, youth inclusion and social welfare programmes.
“The findings clearly demonstrate that President Tinubu’s administration has established solid structural foundations that alternative candidates either lack the political courage to implement or fail to offer credible alternatives for,” he said.
The coordinator of the group also said the endorsement of Tinubu was based on four key pillars.
“As an organisation dedicated to the progress, empowerment and future of young Nigerians, particularly within the North-Central region, we proudly highlight four key pillars driving our unanimous endorsement of President Tinubu for a second term:
“Unlocking educational access and youth potential via the Nigerian Education Loan Fund (NELFUND), direct fiscal empowerment to state governments, targeted social safety nets for vulnerable citizens and commitment to long-term, foundation-building economic policies,” he said.
He said the North-Central youths would continue to remain focused and mobilise support for Tinubu’s re-election.
“I am humbled and honoured to read this press release on behalf of the entire youth population of the North-Central geopolitical zone, under the auspices of the North-Central Renewed Hope Youth Vanguard.
“Today, we stand in unity, speaking with one resolute voice as youth leaders across the six states of the North-Central geopolitical zone and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).
“We stand in strong solidarity with our leader, the North-Central Coordinator of the Renewed Hope Ambassadors, Distinguished Sen. Umaru Tanko Al-Makura, to declare our unwavering commitment, resolve and total support for the re-election of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, in the 2027 general elections,” he declared.
The group further appreciated Tinubu for entrusting Al-Makura with the crucial responsibility of bridging federal reform initiatives with grassroots understanding, thereby mobilising robust civic support across the North-Central region through the Renewed Hope Initiative.
“We extend our sincere gratitude to Mr. President for entrusting our own, Sen. Umaru Tanko Al-Makura, with the crucial responsibility of bridging federal reform initiatives with grassroots understanding, thereby mobilising robust civic support across the North-Central region through the Renewed Hope Initiative.
“Sen. Al-Makura’s political pedigree, foundational contributions to the emergence of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and continuous support for the party’s progress exemplify his deep passion, resilience, commitment and patriotism as a true party leader.
“To him, the sustained victory and stability of the party at both national and state levels remain vital to the full realisation of the short and long-term policies of President Tinubu’s administration,” he added.
The coordinator said Al-Makura was the sole governor elected under the platform of the Congress for Progressive Change (CPC).
“One of the core legacy parties, Sen. Al-Makura played an indispensable and courageous role during the historic merger negotiations that birthed the APC in 2013.
“By selflessly committing resources, hosting vital organisational strategy meetings and building critical political bridges across regions, he laid the very foundation upon which our great progressive party stands today,” he added.
He appreciated President Tinubu for the appointments of key North-Central leaders to prominent political positions.
“Notably, the Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), the Chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) and the National Chairman of the APC, among other top cabinet members and heads of federal agencies,” he added.
