The Director General and Chief Executive, National Space Research and Development Agency (NASRDA), Prof. Matthew Adepoju, has reaffirmed NASRDA’s commitment to mainstreaming private sector participation in Nigeria’s space ecosystem to accelerate the growth of the nation’s space economy.
He made this statement while receiving a delegation from STUPH CHAIN LLC during a courtesy visit to the Agency’s Headquarters in Abuja.
Prof. Adepoju, who was represented by the Director, Media and Corporate Communications, Dr. Felix Ale, commended the young space enthusiasts for their innovative contributions and efforts towards bringing technology-driven experiences to the forthcoming Africa Space Economy Innovation and Communication Conference (ASEICC).
He stated that strategic private sector engagement remains integral to advancing Nigeria’s space ambitions, adding that their effort towards adding value to the conference were steps in the right direction.
Prof. Adepoju assured the team of the Agency’s commitment to providing the necessary information and support to enable them to achieve their goals.
In his presentation, the Chief Executive Officer of STUPH CHAIN LLC, Mr. Ogegbo Babajide, said the visit was to get approval for souvenir designs made by the company towards the forthcoming ASEICC conference holding later this year, as well as engage the management of the Agency on further areas of collaboration.
He added that the team had developed an application for the conference that would allow guests to take live photographs and experience an immersive, galaxy-themed environment and simulate the feeling of being in space.
Babajide further revealed that STUPH CHAIN would be responsible for 50 per cent of the entertainment at the event, leveraging its connections with entertainers to deliver engaging experiences for conference participants.
