The Makinde-Daura Presidential Campaign Organisation (MDPCO) has congratulated the presidential candidate of the Allied People’s Movement (APM), Mr. Seyi Makinde, following his receipt of Christian Icon Award from the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN).
This is contained in a statement issued by Richard Ihediwa, Director of Strategic Communications of the organisation on Saturday in Abuja.
He said Makinde stood as the sole 2027 presidential candidate to receive this high honor from Nigeria’s apex Christian body during its Golden Jubilee celebration.
He quoted CAN as saying that the award reflected Makinde’s record of integrity, transparent governance, and extensive infrastructure development throughout his tenure as Governor of Oyo State.
“Our campaign notes that the Christian Icon Award is conferred on leaders who exemplify excellence, integrity, commitment to nation building, and values of faith and service in their political endeavors.
”His stewardship as the governor of Oyo State, which is hallmarked by people-oriented policies and unparalleled infrastructural development with which he repositioned the state in all critical sectors,” Ihediwa said.
He added that Makinde’s compassionate leadership and his ‘Reset Nigeria’ agenda drove public support for the APM ahead of the upcoming election.
He thanked Nigerians for their solidarity and urged voters to remain steadfast to secure a responsive governance under the Makinde-Daura ticket in Jan. 2027.
