The Bauchi state judiciary says it has trained 31 Shari’ah court judges to enhance justice service delivery.
Mr Tukur Saleh, Chief Registrar, Bauchi Sharia Court of Appeal, said this in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Wednesday in Bauchi.
He said the two-day capacity-building exercise was conducted in collaboration between the court and the Bauchi State Judicial Service Commission (JSC).
The registrar said the exercise was designed to train the 31 newly appointed judges to strengthen their capacities.
Saleh said the judges would be deployed to lower and upper Shari’ah courts across the state to ensure timely dispensation of justice.
He said the state has about 130 judges in its service, aimed at strengthening justice services in accordance with provisions of the Sharia Law.
“We have been training judges and inspectors in partnership with JSC.
“We conducted the sessions for judges and inspectors this month separately.
“The Sharia division has also deployed inspectors to the six zonal offices across the three senatorial districts in the state,” he said.
Saleh listed the offices to include Gamawa, Katagum, Bauchi, Toro, Ningi and Misau.
While reiterating commitment to timely dispensation of justice, Saleh commended the commission for its support.
