The Ondo State Ministry of Education, Science and Technology has introduced a Digital Education Quality Assurance Platform to strengthen the monitoring, inspection and evaluation of public and private schools in the state.
This is contained in a statement issued by the spokesperson for the ministry, Mrs Bisi Lawani, on Friday in Akure.
The ministry stated that the initiative was developed by the Department of Inspectorate and Quality Assurance in partnership with Quickens Computer Limited, in line with global best practices to improve education delivery.
It explained that the digital platform features a real-time dashboard that provides stakeholders with access to reports on the status and performance of schools.
The ministry explained that the platform was designed to facilitate routine evaluation, whole-school evaluation, school inspection and case management; thereby promoting efficiency, transparency and accountability in the education sector.
“The pilot-testing of the platform commenced at Oyemekun Grammar School, Akure, with the participation of Zonal and Area Education Officers from Akure South, Akure North, Ifedore, and Idanre Local Government Areas.
“The exercise began with a training session for field officers on the effective use of the platform, followed by practical field sessions where participating teams were assigned schools to assess and test the system,” it stated.
The ministry noted that a feedback session was held at the end of the field exercise to review observations and identify areas requiring improvement to strengthen the platform before full rollout.
“The exercise will be extended across the three senatorial districts of Ondo State to ensure that all field officers are adequately trained and equipped to utilise the platform effectively.
“This initiative marks another significant step towards leveraging digital technology to enhance education monitoring, strengthen institutional accountability, and ensure improved standards in schools across Ondo State,” it added.
