As the campaigns for the seat of the National Chairman of the All Progressive Congress, APC, is gradually gaining momentum all over the country, the ruling party is said to as at this evening advised all intending politicians with corruption cases hanging on their necks to suspended their ambitions.
Access gathered from a reliable source that the the advise came up so that those candidates that are having cases with the EFCC or ICPC most especially (Corruption cases), should for his or her own interest withdraw from the race and give rooms to the clean ones among them to occupy the number one position of the party.
Recalled that few weeks ago, President Muhammadu Buhari was quoted to have said during one an event that, “APC as a party could not afford to work with dishonest and corrupt people, rather to mould the honest ones amongst to steer the party’s affairs.”
With this development and advise from the party before the general convention, the ruling APC, may drop many candidates who have been parading themselves as likely contestants, most especially in the Northern part of the country.
Their ambition for the APC National Chairmanship job may have reached a sudden end due to the series of corruption cases hanging on the necks of some of these candidates.
Recalled, one of the leading candidate seeking for the seat of APC National Chairman, the former Executive Governor of Zamfara State, Abdul-Aziz Abubakar Yari, is currently facing about 345 different corruption charges bordering on money laundering to the tune of billions of naira, and has been reporting almost every week to the office of the Economic and Financial Crime Commission, EFCC Sokoto Zonal Office.
