Controversial Nigerian actress, Cossy Orjiakor, has called on security operatives to investigate the allegations that she had sex with a dog many years ago and ensure justice is served.
The movie star had stirred widespread backlashes in 2002 when Tunde Moshood, publisher of Enquirer Magazine, shared footage wherein she appeared to be having sex with a dog.
The actress had dismissed the claim, alleging that the video clip was a scene from ‘Itohan’, a 2002 movie that spotlighted the plights of Nigerians trafficked to other countries and used as sex slaves.
The footage, however, made her a subject of ridicule at the time, as a number of people concluded she had sex with a dog.
In an Instagram post on Wednesday, the film star said the scandal caused her emotional trauma and ruined her image as well as her career.
She also lamented that in spite of the damage caused to her reputation, nothing was done about the matter.
Orjiakor called on the police to probe Moshood, who she said is now a politician in Lagos state, over the scandal.
“Sometimes a lifetime award turns out to be a lifetime shame…..thats when Nigeria happens to you. Please @nigerianpoliceforce @nigerian_police_force_sc @nigerian_police_academy_wudil_ I reported this case years ago. But I was just a naive girl …a nobody,” she wrote.
“It was all over the news. Cossy Ojiako slept with Dog and got HIV. My image .. Emotional trauma .. my career everything went down the drain. . I lost my sense of purpose.”
The actress said the police should dissipate similar energy used in investigating the lady in a recent video who claimed she had sex with dogs into her case.
“Up till date no justice… no apologies… nothing. It’s really an insult to me when the Nigerian police went after the girl on TikTok that jokingly said she slept with a dog,” she added.
“What about me that was in the magazine headline. Am I invisible? Please, solve this case and punish whoever is found guilty. Either Cossy the girl that supposedly slept with a dog or Tunde Moshood of the Enquirer magazine who is now a politician in Lagos state.
“The journalist that made millions from the story that broke me. Please my Instagram family help me tag the right police handle because I lost hope in the Nigerian justice system. It still hurts. I want justice.”
In 2020, the actress had also called out Chico Ejiro, the late filmmaker, for keeping mum over the scandal despite having knowledge of how the video came about.
