Ifeoma Adaora ANYANWUTAKU, the Permanent Secretary of the Federal Ministry of Information and Culture, called for the review of the Memorandum of Understanding with China on Media Exchanges to reflect the current realities.

According to her: “This has become imperative in order to develop further and strengthen the capacities of both government and private media professionals in Nigeria, to continue to promote better and friendlier relations amongst our people. Nigeria and China have done so well in implementing the Memorandum in the area of Culture. We ask for closer collaboration in the areas of Media and Audio-visual exchanges, in order to address the emerging issues in the information/media ecosystems,” she said

This year marks the ten anniversary of the Forum on China-Africa Media Cooperation. Cooperations between the two sides are becoming more and more effective and expanding to greater depth and new areas, including new media and new technologies. Successful collaboration in the media field has become an integral part of the overall China-Africa cooperation and has made vigorous contributions to the all-round development of China-Africa relations.
